187 RSMS Visa – RCB approved in only 5 weeks!
Congratulations to our clients who got the 187 RSMS Visa – Regional Certifying Body (RCB) approval in only 5 weeks!
The RCB application is the first step of a 187 Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) Visa.
The second step is the Nomination, followed by the third step: Visa application.
However, you don’t have to wait for each step to be approved before you lodge the next one.
We usually lodge all three applications together to make it easier for the authorities and to fasten the process.
As you can see the Regional Certifying Body is based in New South Wales (NSW). This is because the employer and visa applicant are in NSW.
We are based in Darwin, Northern Territory, but we work with clients all around Australia as well as world wide.
The RSMS is an Employer Sponsored Visa leading to Permanent Residency upon visa grant. It is only available in Regional Australia. For example, the entire Northern Territory including Darwin is considered regional.
There are three different streams available:
- Temporary Residence Transition: where applicants have worked with the employer on a 457 visa for at least 2 years.
- Direct Entry: for applicants who have not worked in Australia, or who have worked in Australia on a visa other than a 457 visa.
- Agreement: for applicants whose employer has a Labour Agreement.
The RSMS visa is a three step process:
- Regional Certifying Body (RCB): employer needs to get approved as a nominator
- Nomination: employer needs to nominate applicant in the sponsored occupation
- Visa application: applicant applies for visa
Requirements for sponsor:
- Be a lawfully operating business in Australia (relevant evidence has to be provided, i.e. business registration and financial documentation)
- Can offer a full-time position for at least two years
- Salary offered to the applicant meets market salary requirements
- Labour market testing
- Provide employment contract with equal terms and conditions (not less favourable than Australian employees)
Requirements for applicant:
- Have the required qualifications and/or work experience
- Competent English (IELTS 6.0)
- Health insurance
- Meet health and character requirements
Please note, the Department of Immigration and Border Protection will introduce changes soon such as age limit, English requirements, occupations list, work experience and training levies.
We recommend to apply BEFORE MARCH 2018. Contact us now for a quote! We assist both, employer and applicants, and we are specialists in immigration to the Northern Territory.

RCB Regional Certifying Body approval – 187 RSMS Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme Visa – Australia
Dear Northern Immigration Australia & Manuela,
I was a youth worker in my profession. I left on 2014 after my second child. I am 38 years old. I have a first class Social Sciences degree. I am currently looking at employer sponsorship to secure a 187 visa. I am receiving some good contacts in NT through a friend who is based there. It is likely that I will hopefully be able to secure a position soon. I understand there is a sense of urgency for the application to be done before March as the laws are changing? How long generally does this process take?
Many thanks
Sangeetha Hadlow
Dear Sangeetha,
Thank you for your enquiry. That’s great to hear you are making progress in finding a sponsor for a 187 RSMS Visa.
Please contact us as soon as you have found a sponsor. We can help you and your employer with the visa application process.
You are correct: there will be significant changes in March so we recommend to apply before March 2018!
We are looking forward to hearing from you soon!
Hi Northern Immigration Australia,
Can we apply for 187 Visa under pending RCB?
Thanks.

Dear Northern Immigration Australia,
I have applied for a 187 RSMS Visa. My RCB got rejected. I applied Nomination and Visa all together. So can I refund Visa fees or not?
Or is there anything you can do to help me get my visa?
I look forward to your advice. I see you have helped many people with Visa! Hopefully you can help me and my family.
Regards,
Amsul
Dear Amsul,

Dear Northern Immigration Australia,
I have a problem. I have applied for a 187 RSMS myself and now have received a letter from the Department: “Invitation to comment on adverse information for a nomination application for a RSMS
Nomination (Direct Entry) (subclass 187) visa. Adverse information received. The Department has conducted checks to confirm the information that you provided in your application. During this process we have received unfavourable information which does not support your application.”
Can you please advise what to do? I need the visa! Please help! Thanks.
Dear Amsul,
That does not sound good, unfortunately. It appears the Department of Home Affairs is considering to refuse your 187 RSMS nomination and consequently your visa application will be refused. You have to make sure that you respond within the requested time frame. Of course we can help you prepare a response and relevant evidence to achieve a positive result. Please book an appointment for a consultation here so we can explain the required steps. We look forward to speaking with you soon!
Hello Northern Immigration Australia,
My wife and I have applied for 187 visa and we got the RCB in April 2018. Still we are in a student visa so is it a problem for our nomination and visa?
Thank you.
Namal
Hi Namal,
Congratulations on the approved RCB! The fact that you are holding a student visa is no problem for the 187 RSMS Visa. Good luck with your application! Please contact us, if you require our assistance.
Hi Northern Immigration Australia,
I’m in a process of applying RSMS visa and we have already submitted the letter to RCB WA for the approval. Now it’s more than 3 weeks and still we haven’t received any result.
Can you please advise how long normally it’ll take to get a reply from RCB?
Thanks!
Hi Ash,
That’s difficult for us to answer because we have not seen your RCB application and don’t have any information about you and your employer, e.g. your occupation. Please book an appointment so we can discuss your concerns and provide you with advice!
