Work Visas and Sponsorships
Benefits for 482 Visa in the Northern Territory
Employers in the Northern Territory receive benefits and concessions from the Australian Government: Businesses are allowed to sponsor staff from overseas in occupations that are not permitted under the standard 482 visa program. The program also includes concessions on English language requirements and salary levels.
Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS 482 visa)
Temporary Skill Shortage or 482 visa allows approved businesses based either in Australia or overseas to sponsor workers for a temporary visa lasting up to 4 years. Only certain occupations are eligible for 482 visas, and employees must be paid at the market rate.
A 482 visa can lead to permanent residency in Australia.
Standard Business Sponsor (SBS)
We can assist you to become an approved Standard Business Sponsor (SBS) so you are able to employ temporary skilled workers under the 482 visa scheme. As an approved SBS employer, you can nominate unlimited positions to be filled by temporary visa workers.
Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) Visa Subclass 186
This visa is for skilled workers who are sponsored by an Australian company for a permanent stay in Australia. The applicant can be inside or outside of Australia at the time of application and at the time of grant.
Regional Sponsorship Migration Scheme (RSMS)
Visa Subclass 187
This is a very popular visa pathway as it is exclusive for skilled workers who are sponsored by an Australian company that is located in a regional area of Australia. All of Northern Australia is considered as regional! The position needs to be approved by a Regional Certifying Body, but otherwise the skill level criteria are lower than for an ENS visa. The RSMS visa is a permanent visa, but is subject to cancellation if the employee leaves employment within 2 years of obtaining the visa. The applicant can be inside or outside of Australia at the time of application and at the time of grant.
